StartUp Grind have partnered with FixMyWard to host a workshop for young entrepreneurs in South C Ward in June 2015.

janeswalk-announce-300x225Naipolitans are organising the inaugural Jane’s Walk in Nairobi in collaboration with SouthCWard Action Team! Naipolitans is an open forum of urban professionals, residents and enthusiasts, trying to figure out how, when, where, and what we can do to make Nairobi and Kenya a better place to live. They have experiences from within and outside Kenya that show that it is possible to have livable urban spaces. They want to bring those experiences to bear on the Kenyan situation but not sure how. Or they are sure how but need a critical mass of people with whom to think things through.

IHub_logoSoftware developers from iHub are partnering with FixMyWard for the development of the opensource FixMyWard platform for public participation. The pilot solution is based on the FixMyStreet platform.

 

10690250_1494720394126264_4391321804863085138_nOnward Kenya organised the inaugural South C Ward Town Hall meeting in collaboration with the South C Ward Action Team! on 11th April 2015. In the weeks prior to the event, we conducted a joint fact finding survey amongst residents and a planning meeting held soon after on 22nd March 2015. The Onward team was also active in the South C Ward CleanUp held on 28th February 2015.

Special mention goes to residents who braved the scorching sun and contributed to the success of the CleanUp including Nyokabi Kimari (who printed & distributed 80 of the posters we designed), Julie Mwamburi (who donated dust masks), Ronnie & Eva Tsumah (provided rakes), Lillian Njeri (slashers), Janice Njoroge and Robert Yawe (who provided drinking water). They were joined by many other volunteers whose contribution is highly appreciated. They have remained actively engaged in all activities since –  including the TownHall meeting.
